Beauty Belies Harsh Reality / by dale rogers

[ad_1]Beauty Belies Harsh Reality I was out on Cape Woolamai last night. It was one of the first Saturday night's if had in a while without a scheduled workshop. I sat amongst the dunes and watched this beautiful sunset.

As I took in the surroundings, the harsh brutality of living on Phillip Island's coastline struck me. Beneath stunning sunsets and pretty water is a daily struggle for existence.

The evening ended with finding this poor female Fairy Penguin, may her soul be swimming in sardine filled waters.

These were taken on a Fuji XT2 with a very old Pentax Takumar 300mm f/4 lens mounted with the assistance of a mount adapter. It's all manual focus and the lens technology was not what it is today. However, photos out of this old lens have a unique look and charm.
