[ad_1]Vintage 300mm f/4 lens from Ebay This week I bought an old vintage Pentax Takumar 300mm f/4 lens for $60 and an adapter for $23 so I could use it on my Fujifilm cameras. It's a beast of a lens and I have been out all day today shooting with it. Since it is a fixed 300mm - no zoom - I had to be creative with my composition and could not shoot traditional landscape images.
I found the old lens a little soft and it required significant effort to move through the entire range of focus. However, despite its flaws, the lens has a certain look and feel that I can appreciate. I think for the price I paid, it's a welcome addition to my camera kit.
Here's a shot of the lens attached to the camera and some of the photos from today.
