The New Bag Last week I posted a photo of my worn out 4 year old FStop camera bag. I loved that bag but the zippers had worn out and I was afraid gear would start dropping out of the side pockets. I endeavoured to research the best camera bags available today. Man there’s a heap of them!
There were a few that I have had my eye on for some time and then there were many new contenders. About a year ago I watched with interest the lead designer from FStop, Ian Miller, leave FStop and consult with adventure photographers about what they wanted in a bag. Ian started Shimoda Design bag company and launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation and development of his new bags.
I did not participate in the Kickstarter although I wished I had. The Shimoda Design bags looked like the perfect match for my needs. simple, rugged and build around a true expedition pack weight distribution system.
Right after I made my post, Shimoda Designs Australia reached out to me and sent me the Shimoda 40l camera bag. Here’s a quick look at the bag and yesterday’s adventure.
