Workshops and Weather
Workshops and weather are both fickle things. This week we’ve had rain, clouds and a few more clouds. We had an astro workshop scheduled for last night and all day. Guess what? Yep, it was cloudy and rained all day.
I messaged all the participants and explained that I thought we would have solid cloud cover however we would still go out and see what we could do with a few light tricks. All but one of the participants decided to miss the workshop in favour of a night when we would have a better chance of photographing the Milky Way.
Brad was the only workshop participant and we ventured out in the very cloudy sometimes rainy conditions. we had a blast painting with light using a Pixel Stick, flashlights and steel wool.
And then, lo and behold, the clouds parted and we saw the Milky Way leaping right out of the top of Eagles Nest. For about 10 minutes we got some pretty cool shots of the stars.
All in all, this was a great workshop. We had a blast experimenting with light and were pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the Milky Way.
