Three Workshops bundled into one!
1. Intimate Landscapes
2. Beach Silhouettes
3. Astro Photography/Light Painting

INTIMATE LANDSCAPE
Epic landscapes put you out of the picture, as if you are viewing from a window or viewing a painting. They are epic in scale and the viewer feels small in comparison to the scene portrayed. Epic landscape photos are taken in breathtaking beautiful places. Places where cars pull over, people stop and marvel at the view and are destinations to visit.

An Intimate Landscape is rarely noticed by a passerby. They are not marked on a map, hiked to, driven past, camped at or explored. They just exist. They exist right under our feet or right in front of our eyes. They are there for the finding if one slows down and really looks.

An Intimate Landscape encompasses the viewer and pulls them into a special secret moment of time, place and space. The viewer is not outside of, but rather, included within the Intimate Landscape.

This workshop will focus on techniques for finding and shooting the Intimate Landscape. The workshop is usually facilitated by two professional photographers/educators to ensure each participant gets plenty of one to one instruction and guidance.

BEACH SILHOUETTES
Learn to take the perfect beach silhouettes at sunset in the fun and interactive workshop.

ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY
If clouds crowd out too many stars, we’ll focus on light painting with El Wire, Pixel Stick or steel wool spinning if conditions permit.

This is an intermediate level workshop – participants should be able to shoot using the manual mode of their camera prior to the workshop.

Participants will also learn about the native animals and environment unique to the island to better understand what they are shooting. All workshop facilitators are island locals and professional photographers who have an intimate understanding of the environment, seasonal fluctuations, animals and conditions on the Bass Coast.

The workshop is usually facilitated by two professional photographers/educators to ensure each participant gets plenty of one to one instruction and guidance.

Participants need to bring their camera and all lenses, fully charged battery, empty memory card, remote release (optional), flashlight, good shoes, jumper or jacket and a small bottle of water. A tripod is required for this workshop.

The workshop lasts between 7-8 hours total and participants need a moderate level of fitness.
