Adventure – Discover – Learn
This workshops focuses on shooting the starry night sky. Participants will learn how to focus on dark nights, use a tripod, remote release and appropriate camera settings for catching the stars and star trails. We’ll also discuss how to plan a perfect astro shoot and how to photograph the elusive Southern Aurora.

If clouds crowd out too many stars, we’ll focus on light painting with El Wire, Pixel Stick or steel wool spinning if conditions permit.

This is an intermediate level workshop – participants should be able to shoot using the manual mode of their camera prior to the workshop.

Participants will also learn about the native animals and environment unique to the island to better understand what they are shooting. All workshop facilitators are island locals and professional photographers who have an intimate understanding of the environment, seasonal fluctuations, animals and conditions on the Bass Coast.

The workshop is usually facilitated by two professional photographers/educators to ensure each participant gets plenty of one to one instruction and guidance.

Participants need to bring their camera and all lenses, fully charged battery, empty memory card, remote release (optional), flashlight, good shoes, jumper or jacket and a small bottle of water. A tripod is required for this workshop.

The workshop lasts between 3-4 hours and participants need a moderate level of fitness.

$80 per person payable via PayPal before the workshop or cash on the day of the event. Please hit the +Going button on the event page or email dale@photorangers.com.au if you wish to book a place. Adventure – Discover – Learn
