Here’s some shots using Fuji’s 56mm f/1.2 APD. This was designed as a bang hot portrait lens and the APD stands for apodization filter that’s coated on a piece of glass inside this thing to give extra smooth bokeh. I think that’s a fancy way of saying there some bokehliscious voodoo in this lens!
Since I’m not a portrait photographer as such, I took it for a spin on the beach. Here’s a few shots straight out of the XT-1 camera – JPG, no edit or tom foolery here.
We’ll test it out proper in a portrait session alongside the Nikon and Canon 85mm (on Full Frames) to see what she’s really made of in the future.
