Catching the Wave – Long Exposure Workshop – $70

Adventure – Discover – Learn
This workshop will explore catching wave action around rock pools using variable shutter speeds. From freezing the crashing wave mid air to creamy 30 sec exposures. We’ll discuss the magic shutter speed to catch a wave mid crash and leave the shutter open long enough to show movement but still maintain the definition of the wave.

We’ll be shooting during the gold and blue hours meaning we’ll shooting after sunset to get the best effects.

This is an intermediate level workshop – participants should be able to shoot using the manual mode of their camera prior to the workshop.

Participants will also learn about the native animals and environment unique to the island to better understand what they are shooting. All workshop facilitators are island locals and professional photographers who have an intimate understanding of the environment, seasonal fluctuations, animals and conditions on the island.

The workshop is usually facilitated by two professional photographers/educators to ensure each participant gets plenty of one to one instruction and guidance.

Participants need to bring their camera and all lenses, fully charged battery, empty memory card, remote release (optional), flashlight, good shoes, jumper or jacket and a small bottle of water. A tripod is required for this workshop.

The workshop lasts between 3-4 hours and participants need a moderate level of fitness.

$70 per person payable via PayPal before the workshop or cash on the day of the event. Please hit the +Going button on the event page or email dale@photorangers.com.au if you wish to book a place. Adventure – Discover – Learn
