We held the first ever Astro Photography workshop last night with Daniel Gangur from Gippsland Images. Everything was perfect except … we had no stars. Cloud moved in during the afternoon and stole away our pretty stars and Milky Way – a typical occurrence for anyone who has chased the elusive Southern Aurora or carefully planned a star shot. We pressed on and covered the basics of Astro Photography, gear recommendations, focusing techniques, camera settings, and etc. We practice our night work with some light painting. I took a few shots of the group as we went. You can see a little stars in a few of the shots.
